Connect Cal.com
Connect your Cal.com account to Elevate Prospect so your chatbot can check availability and book appointments for your customers in real time.
1. Get Your Cal.com Booking Link
Log into your Cal.com account and go to your event type page. Click Copy Link to get your public booking URL. It should look like:
https://cal.com/your-username/30min
2. Generate an API Key
For real-time availability checks, you need a Cal.com API key:
- In Cal.com, go to Settings → Developer → API Keys.
- Click + New API Key.
- Give it a name like “Elevate Prospect Integration”.
- Set the expiration (we recommend 1 year).
- Copy the generated API key immediately—you won’t be able to see it again.
3. Connect to Elevate Prospect
- In your Elevate Prospect dashboard, go to Settings → Integrations → Cal.com.
- Paste your booking URL into the Scheduling URL field.
- Paste your API key into the API Key field.
- Click Connect & Verify. The system checks that the API key is valid and the booking link is active.
4. Test Availability
Open the Test Chat panel and ask to book an appointment. With the API key connected, the chatbot should:
- Ask for the preferred date or time
- Check real-time availability from your Cal.com calendar
- Offer available time slots
- Confirm the booking and provide a summary
Book a test appointment and verify it appears in your Cal.com dashboard with the correct customer details.
5. Configure Booking Preferences
In Settings → Integrations → Cal.com → Preferences, customize:
- Buffer time: Minimum hours before a slot that the chatbot can book (prevents last-minute chaos)
- Time zone handling: Auto-detect the customer’s timezone or default to your business timezone
- Booking window: How far in advance customers can book (e.g. 30 days)
- Pre-booking questions: Custom questions asked before confirming the appointment
- Reminder messages: SMS reminders sent before the appointment
6. Multi-Event Support
If you have multiple Cal.com event types (e.g. different service durations or specialties), add each one under Event Types. Assign recognizable names and the chatbot will match customer intent to the right event type automatically. You can also set a default event type for generic booking requests.
